Ruth's Cottage is a domestic violence, child advocacy,
and sexual assault response program serving Ben Hill, Irwin, Tift,
Turner, and Worth Counties.
The mission of Ruth's Cottage is to end domestic
and sexual violence, as well as child sexual and physical abuse,
through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to investigations,
advocacy, and support, while working in the community to change
attitudes, beliefs and behaviors.
How Can You Help?
To continue offering our much-needed services, we
rely on the generous donations from community partners and families.
There are many ways you can help--no amount is too small. Please
help us support victims of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual
assault.
Monetary donations, honorariums and memorials are
always welcome. You can also honor our late board member Joy Hill
by giving to the Joy Hill Memorial Building Fund established at
First Community Bank. This is a permanent reminder that domestic
violence can happen to anyone.
Ruth's Cottage is also in need of supplies. We maintain
a current needs list that includes furniture, pantry items, food,
office supplies, etc. A donation of these items is greatly appreciated
by our staff and victims.
Volunteering
Volunteers for Ruth's Cottage will play an integral
role in the creation of a peaceful, safe environment for those who
seek our services, and without people like you who care enough to
reach out and to become involved, there is no hope for success.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
- Crisis Line Advocate
- Child Care Advocate
- Community Educator
- Volunteer Legal Advocate
- Fundraising/Special Events Volunteers
- Office Volunteers
If you have time to give to Ruth's Cottage, please
call 229/387-9697.
