When a child is molested or physically abused, he or she is thrust involuntarily into a system that is mind-boggling to adults, and terrifying to kids. Child victims and their families become involved with multiple professionals including representatives from DFCS, law enforcement agencies, the District Attorney's office, and others.

The Patticake House, the child advocacy center under the umbrella of Ruth's Cottage, is available to child victims, their siblings, and non-offending parents for support, information, and therapy. The Patticake House provides a safe, non-threatening and child-friendly atmosphere for the interviewing of children who have been sexually or physically abused.
